Amirah joined the SDSN Global Secretariat in 2021 out of the SDSN Asia office housed out of Sunway University. She is the Secretariat Focal Point for the SDSN Hong Kong, SDSN Indonesia, SDSN Malaysia, SDSN Bangladesh, SDSN China Hub, SDSN South Asia and SDSN Southeast Asia networks. Amirah is also a Community Co-Manager of Mobilize – a communication platform for SDSN members, and works in close liaison with SDSN’s global networks on selected initiatives by SDGs Today. Amirah first joined the Jeffery Sachs Center in 2017 where she worked on education, outreach and research on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This included fostering collaborations with key stakeholders in the areas of education and awareness of the SDGs, through developing executive training programs, educational workshops, and public events. Amirah was also previously a co – Network Manager of the Malaysian chapter of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) for two years before joining SDSN. Prior to joining the Jeffrey Sachs Center and SDSN, Amirah’s career was predominately in the hospitality and tourism industry in both Australia and Malaysia.
