“The Future Together: Deepening Partnership for Agenda 2030″

Four years ago, world leaders came together at the United Nations and adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Governments united behind one plan responding to the most urgent global challenge: to create shared prosperity without threatening its livability for all into the future.

However, ASEAN countries collectively have glaring issues on achieving a key number of Sustainable Development Goals. To address this, the ASEAN Sustainable Development Summit 2019 (ASD2019) focuses on several pertinent themes: urbanisation; health; education; inequality and inclusive growth; technological transformations; climate change; and responsible corporate action.

The ASD2019 intends to drive cooperation between ASEAN member-states towards these core thrusts. The one-day event provides a platform and practical framework for ministers, policymakers, industry practitioners, civil society activists and experts to address shared challenges to sustainable development in the region and to discuss feasible and effective implementation strategies and solutions.
Jointly organised by the Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development (JSC) and the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (ASLI), the ASD2019 is an evolution of the ASEAN Ministers Workshop inaugurated in 2017.
